Another Cold Day in the Big Blue World.

And how cold has it been lately!!!? I mean we are now officially into spring for pete's sake. I'm sure that if I have my central heating running for much longer it's going to melt. It's been so cold, I've taken to wearing my woolly hat in the office first thing on a morning. The radiator in our office is the last one to come on and takes an age to warm up.

So what happened last week. Well the week really began with my Great-Grandmothers funeral. I'm always amazed at the amount of family I never see except for at Weddings and Funerals. As is always the case with funerals it was raining. There was the usual family spat as well as one of her sons had decided to go to Spain rather than attend his mothers funeral.

Latter part of the week found me in deepest darkest Wales on a site surey. Nothing to write home about apart from it was just as cold down there as it was up here. Glad it was the hotel paying the heating bills on that one.

This week it suddenly hit home that I've actually lived in my house for a year now. How did I come to this realisation? Well I've been getting more and more post through my letterbox asking for money for things I set up when I moved in. They're all asking for more money than last year as well!

Just for once I'd like something other than a bill to pop through my door.

Secours

Well, I'm back from France.

That really should be I survived my trip to France. I have yet to visit anywhere like France where to drive is to put your life in the hands of the mad! This trip was my first time driving on the continant. I'll tell you what it was almost bad enough to make me start drinking again (and blow the consequences).

When driving in France always remember 2 things:

(i) Indicators are there to help confuse your opponents.
(ii) The larger you are the greater your right of way...
(iii)... Except if you drive a Renault 5 or Peugeot 205, in which case you always have right of way.

As expected my command of the French Langauge was worse than last time. Why did they never teach French Cremation terms in beginners french i'll never know. The one word that has stood out this week though and that is "Secours". Translated as Help or HELP!!!!!!! It was the labelling on a button on the front of the machine i went to look at. An in case of emergency button as in if all else fails push me. I couldn't help but laugh when i saw it, if it had actually been red that would have completely killed me. What was scary though was this button was the only safety device on the entire machine. I'd imagine that if anything did go wrong the operator would be running in the other direction rather than press the button.

On a much sadder note, I arrived home on Thursday to discover that my Great Grandmother had passed away earlier in the week. She had been ill and in/out of hospital for a long time so we knew it was coming, but it still came as something of a surprise. Her funeral is on Tuesday and the entire family is going to be there. It's strange that I only ever see some of them at Funerals.

Thought For the Day: If you ever see a Renault 5 with a Frecnh numberplate, run!

The Not so Grand Opening

Well I'm back and as they usually say "He's bigger than ever". Well it's true in this case. Looking back at the last time I posted in a blog I've put on approximtely 1/2 a stone. Give or take 1/2 a stone. ;-)

So what's happened since the last time I blogged. Well as you can imagine after 9 months I've finished moving into my house. I've actually started decorating. So far Ive gotten as far as painting one wall red and tidying up the skirting boards. At this rate I'll have finished the entire house in 16 years. On the plus side my collection of furniture has grown and I'm really only missing a Dining table and chairs. Mind you wiht only me in the house there's no need for one as yet!

Work, well work is still work keeping me on my toes. So far this year i have learn't that some customers are actually Assassins that are cuddly enough to be included with a kids Happy Meal. Everybody loves them until they get the knife out. Still things could be worse, I could be sent to France next week...

No wait I am being sent to France next week. When did they telll me this. Well a fortnight ago, but then they cancelled it on Monday, only for it to be back on as of 5pm on Friday. So i've spent the weekend rushing around like a headless chicken trying to organise everything in 2 days that i should of done in the last 7. Hence why the blog currently has no bells and whistles. Maybe next weekend! See you in a week folks!

Thought for the day:
Existence. Can we ask more than that. I think not. However, we can strive for a better existence, maybe in the strving we achieve a deeper meaning.
